I must say realy good design feel is amazing but the lack of bolts in some parts I think would be needed atleast for me since some things have a tendency to come loose but overall realy good even from the price point
I made a few changes to the design and the Arduino code. The whole thing sits on a 100x200x8 steel plate. The gearbox mode is toggled between sequential and "H" mode. I added a reverse gear to have six gears instead of five. The Arduino now has a side-mounted enclosure.
Really good shifter in every way, just make sure that if you are not using the pedals/handbrake you remove those parts of the code to just use the shifter standalone, and use your wheel as the input device and code it to the H-Pattern there. I printed mine out of PETG and it is plenty strong enough.
It's a very fun project; it works perfectly and it's Poka-yoke. I'm very happy with the results. Also, I must say that Davide is a gentleman who answered all the questions I had.
