General:
What's needed to build these projects?
To build these projects, you'll need a 3D printer, basic hand tools, and a soldering iron for electronics wiring. Every component needed is included in the detailed parts list, and the step-by-step instructions and videos will allow anyone with basic DIY experience to complete each build successfully.
Which sim racing games will work with these projects?
DAZ projects devices are recognized by your PC as standard gaming controllers, so they're compatible with all major sim racing titles. Simply map the inputs to your preferred functions in each game's settings. While I haven't tested every sim racing game available, compatibility has been consistent across all the titles I've verified.
Can i sell the phisical printed models?
No, as outlined in our Terms and Policies, selling derivatives or physical copies of these models is not permitted. If you're interested in selling phisical models, please reach out through our contact form. If we receive enough requests we'll potentially set up a Patreon subscription tu provide the needed license agreement.
What is the refund policy?
Due to the nature of digital products, refunds are not available as outlined in our refund policy. You can review our complete refund policy here or scroll to the bottom of this page and click on Terms and Policies. If you experience any issues with your models, please reach out to us via our contact form and we'll be happy to assist.
Steering Wheel:
How do we know the Force Feedback is 15Nm?
The peak torque of this force feedback wheel matches the peak torque of hoverboard motors, which according to technical specifications is 15Nm. This value may vary slightly between different models, but it represents the general specification for 6.5-inch hoverboard motors.
Why the wheel has a belt but it's Direct Drive?
In a direct drive steering wheel the motor is directly connected to the wheel itself, transmitting force feedback in the most realistic and accurate way. The belt serves solely to transmit rotational position to the encoder, enabling your PC to track wheel orientation in real time.
What's the FFBeast firmware?
The wheel requires firmware to communicate properly with your PC and function in your racing simulator. I've designed this wheel to work around the FFBeast firmware, simplifiing the mechanical side of things by providing a simpler design, easy to replicate. I take no credit for the electronics or firmware development—that work was completed by FFBeast, a separate project with which I have no affiliation.
Does the motor needs to be modified to work with this project?
NO! This is actually the only hoverboard-based steering wheel that doesn't require you to modify the motor in any way. Just remove the tire, assemble everything, and it works!
If you're comfortable with it, you can drill some holes in the motor housing to help with cooling, but that's optional.
Pedals & Shifter:
Do i need to know how to code to set these up?
No, the firmware for the Arduino Leonardo is included with your download. You'll simply upload it using the Arduino IDE software. A detailed setup guide is provided, so you're all set.
How hard is it to set up the pedals & shifter?
Setting up these projects is extremely straightforward. Connect them to your PC using the arduino leonardo usb port, configure the inputs in your game settings, and adjust the pedal deadzones using the included software sliders. That's all you need to get racing.
How many gears does the shifter has?
This shifter has 6 positions, so you can configure it for 5+R or 6 gears and map reverse to a button on your keyboard or steering wheel.
Can i use the same Arduino Leonardo to control both the pedals and the shifter?
Yes, these projects are designed to work together with a single Arduino Leonardo board. You'll just need to connect the various buttons and sensors as shown in the circuit diagrams, and the shifter and pedals will work seamlessly together.
